This World

I’ve been thinking quite a bit lately about this world in which we live. Some people have too much, others not enough. Violence is everywhere, juxtaposed with unbelievable kindness. Some are capable of unspeakable cruelty while others will give their life for a stranger. While most see this as true chaos, I just do not see how this world makes sense without God. What some people call coincidences are too perfect to be random. God has a plan and a design for each of us and it is a perfect plan. This doesn’t mean we will have perfect lives, drive that fancy sports car or have everything we desire. What it does mean is that if listen to God, make Him the head of our lives and let Him lead us with His plan, we will be happier than we can truly fathom. That sense of satisfaction you get from your plans working out is NOTHING compared to the feeling of you allowing God’s plans for you to unfold.

Isaiah 26:3 says You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you.

Trusting in the Lord means giving up the “I can do this alone” attitude. Wouldn’t you want to have the creator of the universe with you as you go through life? If you trust Him with your life and your plans, you can feel that perfect peace the Bible speaks of.

Some days this trust comes easy, other days are more difficult. My prayer is that each day I get closer to the obedience God wants, and more importantly, deserves.
