Life360
While reading a Lifehacker post on what successful and techy people use I stumbled upon the Life360 app. This site and corresponding smart phone app (iPhone/Android/BlackBerry) helps you keep track of family members via GPS. After a quick installation you’ll be asked to create an account. I did this from their site and this makes the process …
IQTELL – Productivity App
A while back I started a series of posts outlining and reviewing the tools I use on a regular basis. These are primarily online tools like blog readers and social media apps, but sometimes can be other tools like pole saws, etc. Today I’m bringing that series back with my newest find, IQTELL. IQTELL is the latest website designed …
September 11 – 11 Years Later
The anniversary of 9/11 always brings back memories of that terrible day. The newscasts that seem to go on forever, the uneasiness that was felt as we weren’t really sure what else may happen. The shock of someone coming to our shores and attacking us in such a brazen attempt to kill and injure civilians. …
Saturday Mornings – 1970
I say 1970 because I think that is about the time we began having a gentleman come to our house on Saturday mornings to do handyman and other odd jobs. His name was James Knight and he worked with my Aunt at Bowld Hospital. My Aunt ran the Housekeeping Department there for years and I …
Kevin & Bethany Paige – Beautifully Broken
I’ve had the pleasure of owning the new Kevin & Bethany Paige CD “Beautifully Broken” since their performance at our conference in June. After listening to it in it’s entirety I can honestly say it is one of the best start to finish set of songs I have heard in the last 20 years. No kidding. …
Airlines Just Don’t Get It
Just read on CNN [external link] that certain airlines are shrinking legroom in their coach seats. Being 6’3″ I have some experience with these small seats. “Not comfortable” doesn’t begin to cover it. In the article there are some stats of ‘seat pitch’ and other factors but a 3rd grader can tell you that given …
This World
I’ve been thinking quite a bit lately about this world in which we live. Some people have too much, others not enough. Violence is everywhere, juxtaposed with unbelievable kindness. Some are capable of unspeakable cruelty while others will give their life for a stranger. While most see this as true chaos, I just do not see how …
My Favorite Songs – Part IV – Green Tinted Sixties Mind
It’s said that the title comes from the way 60’s movies have a green tint to them but all I can say is this song has one of the catchiest hooks of anything I’ve heard lately. The song is from Mr Big‘s 1991 album Lean Into It, which also had the hit single To Be With You. Paul Gilbert’s opening guitar work is superb and the vocals are tight, even in the live version linked below. Take a listen and add to your mobile device for listening when you need a quick happy song.

My Favorite Songs – Part III – Champagne High
There is something about this song that I can’t put my finger on but it’s also one of my favorites (read about two others here & here). The chorus is catchy and the mix is very well done. Sister Hazel has been around since 1993 and hails from Gainesville, FL. Champagne High is off of …
